What Classes are working on:
Kindergarten and First Grade are learning about the African culture and creating colorful necklaces made with pattern.
Second Grade is working on their Eric Carle inspired animals. They used
Eric Carle's painting and collage method of creating artwork.
Third Grade students are learning about Dale Chihuly and his amazing
glass artwork. The students will create Dal Chilhuly inspired paper
sculptures.
Fourth Grade is learning about Salvador Dali's artwork and surrealism. They will create fun
surrealist elephants learning about pattern, shading and shadows.
Fifth Grade students will be exploring bookmaking techniques. They
will apply their sewing skills to create their very own handmade journal!
Sixth graders are finishing up with "wobbly word" art. In their artwork they had to show movement with words that describe what they love to do, favorite places and people.
Seventh and Eighth grade Girls learned about the science behind what makes a hot air balloon work. Now they are designing hot air balloons out of paper mache.
Seventh and Eighth Grade Boys learned about the history of typography and more specifically graffiti. We will learn
how to create original lettering and design a piece that would positively affect our community!
