PROMOTION AND RETENTION
Promotions will be based on student’s final grades. The final grades are determined by averaging the quarterly grades for each main subject.
No student will be promoted if he/she receives a failing grade or does not meet minimum attendance requirements.
During the school year, if any student is having difficulty, a meeting must be held with the teacher, student and his/her parent so that the school can advise them of ways in which the parents can help to prevent the child from being retained.
PROGRESS REPORTS
Pre-kindergarten students will receive two progress reports cards; one in January and the second in June. Kindergarten and higher will receive report cards on a quarterly basis, or every 10 weeks. Mid progress-reports are sent to parents mid-quarter for students receiving a U grade or if teachers feel there is a need to address concerns before quarterly reports.
Parent-Teacher conferences are available to discuss report cards and other student issues as needed. These meetings should be done by appointment to ensure teacher is available. Parents will be expected to pick up there child’s report cards on the first and third quarters. This gives the parents and teachers the opportunity to discuss the student’s progress. The second and fourth quarter report cards will be sent home. Parent are encouraged to come in to discuss their child’s progress throughout the school year.
